Day 38 and 39
Day 38(09.04.09) Last 4 days in Wuhan
Weather: Double Digit (Air Condition temperature again)

Presentation day (for Env Tech) and Alan’s Birthday! Our presentation day!

Did not sleep for whole night as I was rushing for the PowerPoint slides! But, I managed to complete it! Horary! (Well, Singaporeans like to do things last minutes.)

So, had our presentation at 9am in the morning!
Our Environmental project Topic was: CO2 emission from roadside stores.
Our Aim: To reduce the emission of Carbon Dioxide gases from the roadside stalls in Wuhan, China, which mainly CO2 is being produced by burning of methane gas and Charcoal.
By reducing this, we will create our own invention and this is also part of the project purpose. To find a solution for our problem and convince Mr Chong by accepting our proposed idea! Go to this link to see our PowerPoint slides:

http://www.slideboom.com/presentations/58891/CO2-emission-on-roadside-stall
(P.s. Yi Sheng, happened to see your blog and steal this link, hope you don't mind!)
Do not have the pictures for presentation. Sorry!
For our presentation even though there were hiccups, its okay! We all put in our best effort! Hope Mr Chong understands our invention!

After our presentation, we are still not done yet with our Environment Technology Project. We still need to summit our report for it (Due at 4pm that day). Thus, we went back and complete our report. As I had did much of the PowerPoint slides throughout that night, my group leader and group mates, allow me to take a nap from 2pm till 3pm. When I was awake, I was told that the report was roughly done, tell me not to worry about it.

So, after summiting the report into Mr Chong’s tumbdrive, we did our own stuff. As for me, I went to see whether Alan’s cake was ready. It was a pool table cake! This is what we specially ordered for him as we know he LOVES pooling a lot! We were very satisfied with the cake! (Thank you cake shop uncle!谢谢老板!for doing such a FABULLOUS job!)
As Known, in Singapore, we were not able to customized and personalized the cakes. But in China, its different! We personalized our own cake for Jasper and Jin Quan and also, ask the cake shop uncle to do for us a pool table cake from rectangular shape!! China is BRILLANT!

At around 6.30pm, all the course mate (excluding Mei Yi, Felicia, Yi Sheng and Hardy) and I went out to eat near a shopping mall where Alan played his pool at.

Due to the fact that it was his birthday, everyone followed him and eat at that stall that he ordered food at. The other four, whom do not tag along was because that they have leader meeting with the MDE leaders for tomorrow night farewell party for the locals. Thus, they will join us later (bringing along the cake and some guests too!)
Our dinner:
A stall which sells delicious fried rice! Recommanded by Alan!

After dinner around 7.30pm, we went to the pool place and all of us were either, trying or playing pool using the normal pool table. Also, we did go to do some shopping in that shopping mall. However, all the shop closes at 9.30pm.
The normal pool table Kumaran and me

Alan's last 2 shots and he cleared table!

At around 10am, we opened a VIP room. (This was mainly a plan, as we decided to do celebration for Alan in that VIP room).

There was a ragger in the room to help us arrange the pool table balls!
See how glamorous the room is!

Velverie!

So now, the plan
-Mei Yi and gang will come around 11pm- 11.30pm. (Bring the cake and special guest: Charlotte, Journey and Yep Yep!)
-Then, we will off the light (I know every time this pattern) and sing birthday song.
-Lastly, he will see his specially customized cake!
- Also, for the VIP room wise, we will split the bill (among LSCT) as a present for him

According to plan, Mei Yi and gang arrived before 11.30pm.

As the plan is going on smoothly, we settled outside to set up the cake (candles all those). It was all perfect until then, a receptionist, supposinglly, saw us bringing the cake, informed Alan(as he was their one footing the bill and their regular customer) not to dirtied the VIP room as the equipment inside were very expensive. But, he doesn’t know that it was for Alan! Thus, he spoiled the whole surprise!!! (DAMN THE RECEPTIONIST
%#^%@$!@%$@#%@!$)

So, party continues as usual and he was very happy also! Our special guest gave him a Chinese fan and they engrave his name on it. (But they spelt Alan’s name wrongly. Never mind, it’s okay)

After the celebration, about 12am, we went for another activity which is KTV TIME!! We had a party room (big enough to store 25 of us) and it was Jin Quan treat! Around 135rmb(if I did not remembered wrongly) 1 night, till 5am.

Jin Quan ready to pay the bill!

The room we are given

Soon, we started singing!

Yi Sheng Singing

Everyone singing along

Yep Yep Singing! Her Singing was MARVELOUS!

For what i have to say about the KTV was that their main and basic function is the worst as compared to the other facilities in the room. Which is the sound system! It's NOT GOOD AT ALLLLL!

So, all of us were in the KTV for whole night, but I did manage to get some sleep from 3am to 5am. (I don’t know how I did that with all those “noise”. Maybe too tired)

Day 39 (Friday, 10.04.09)
Weather: Double digit temperature
Last 3 days! Enjoying in Wuhan!

After KTV, we went for breakfast! This is none other than Macdonald (the only 24 hours shop in Wuhan, China).
Journey and Charoltte

The big breakfast, China version! i had hot chocolate for the drink~

The main and biggest different is the egg. Singapore's macdonald egg was scrambled egg while China's was scattered egg! Overall, it taste alright, somewhat similar to Singapore's

They had Strawberry jam! Singapore's was Grap Jam!

After breakfast, we cabled home (WUST) as it was still early for us to do any shopping. Shopping area there open at 9am(that’s early!) No wonder they closes so early night. They open early in the morning at 9am! Unlike Singapore which shops mainly starts opening only at 11am.

Cabbed back and WUST around 7am, then, we (including our 3 special guests) bathed(in my room) while some others get some sleep.

The counter for the taxi there.
Looks like a radio box!

The taxi there were all like this! The driver seat was seperated by this cage. Some even caged up the driver seat. This is to prevent robbery. I think that Singapore should also implement this as we also have a few cases of robbing of taxi drivers!

While accompany Charlotte and Yep Yep to take their clothes to bath in our room, just happened to found out their toilet facilities!

Their sink, as mention before, they have no shelf to hold their stuff like cups, facial foams...

The toilets with no doors... Just look at their toilet, it just a drain! There is no flusher somemore! They do no even have a sanitary bin to hold their pad! Just normal bin not even with any plasticbag as a base! This is really horrible! Doesn't China people have the habit to flush the toilet?!?! TOTALLY STINKY AND YULKY!

Their bathroom. No Doors again. From what i know from Charoltte and Yep Yep they usually we

So at 9am, we all (LSCT students, except Yi Sheng as he was dead beat) set off to another shopping area, called 士门口. I do not know whether I am too tired or that place really isn’t my cup of tea, I just felt bored all the way.

Soon, after roaming aimlessly for 3 hours, we had our lunch at a 小食街 and headed for another place, 电脑城, computer city. It is like Sim Lim Square in Singapore. But, it is of course far more superior than Singapore’s and things inside are super cheap either! I did not buy any as I scared that it will have quality problem when I reached back in Singapore.

At night about 6.30pm, we took taxi back again! It was around 40rmb and can be considered quite cheap! It was because I took that taxi for about 1 hour! The taxi fare here is conformed cheaper than Singapore! Sometime, it’s cheaper to take taxi here than bus.

After reaching WUST, we went for the farewell party (from us(MDE and LSCT) to the Locals(Student unions of WUST)!

Us waiting for the whole event to start

Opening speech by fire. As he feel that talking in Chinese best express himself, therefore, meiyi was standing beside him, helping him to translate!

The three layered cakes by us to them!

Group photos!

As those who have been wondering why is there 2 more cakes. Bascially, it is for a birthday boy(local) called rocco! It was his birthday at the same time! Thus, 2 in one celebration!
Him making wish

Pulling out his candle using mouth!

Cutting the cake

Us enjoying the cake and the food at the farewell party!

The student unions
Up next, was karaoka session! Jin Quan and Yong Qi Singing

Us joining along too!

Lastly, cleaning up!

Personally, I felt that the Student Unions did a very good job overall! Although not much activities lined up for us, but it’s perfectly fine! This is because whenever we need them, they will be right there for us! This is what “real friendship are for!” Be there for us no matter what, when, and where. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!

After the farewell party, we went back to our dormitory. In our dormitory, the MDE groups of students were asking us to tag along as they were going clubbing. However, we did not go as our DEAR MR CHONG disallowed to go out that night. Feeling depressed being not able to go, we all obediently stay in our rooms and I slept at 1.30am.

China pubs do not have any age limit to enter it! Unlike Singapore’s system which we need to be at least 18 to do anything. Like driving, smoking, buying liquor and entering pubs. Thus, China’s system is much less strict.
