Day 34 and 35 (Trip to Lulin resort;绿林景区)

Day 34 (Sunday, 05.04.09)
Weather: Cooling (double digit temperature. But less than 20 degrees)

Straight after J&J birthday, the following day was our tour to Lulin resort. Due to our mischievous act the night before, some of us woke up late. As a result, we were 10 minutes late.

I woke up at 7.15am and got prepared. The reporting time was 8am and we were in the bus at 8.10am.

Throughout the journey to Lulin, I was sleeping and it took us around 4 hours plus. We then dine in the restaurant over there.(Sorry, no photos taken, as my camera battery run flat; it dies off. All the picture put up was from Felicia’s camera)

After dinning, around 12.30pm, we reached our hotel. We were told to check the things in the hotel thoroughly. Like, the cups, the air conditions, the kettle, the hair drying, the water heater, mirrors in the room, beds, etc. Surprising, some of my fellow course mates have problems with their room beds. Their bed legs just broke off just the moment they sat on the bed. STRANGE! What did the previous guest did on the bed? Fortunately, everything in my room was ALRIGHT!

Our hotel room number

Door opening! Usual lock seen in any other hotel in Singapore too.

Same style as our chalet. Slotting in card for electricity

The toilet

Hair dryer provided!

The sink area

It's NOT a toilet bowl!

The other end of the room. Television!

The antique window grill

Curtain drawn. Orangy

As there were a lot of mirrors around, i took some pictures

The kettle provided for us. There are tea bags too. But we dare not open them as we scared there will be extra charges for it

The switch which controls every light beside our bed

Overall, I still preferred the hotel we stayed when we were on the trip to Wudang. 2 reason why I preferred it more. The hotel room was far superior and secondly, THERE’S A TOILET BOWL!!

At around 1.30pm, all of us met up again and settle off to our 1st places of interest,美人谷. What I can say about that place was all about 游山玩水. To enjoy the waterfall, stones and rock over there. It drew us closer to the nature. After that, we went for dinner at the same restaurant (6.30pm).

A field full of yellow flowers!

Entering our destination

This cliff is called 望美石. There is a story behind it. Long long ago, there was this lady whom fall in love with a guy. But however, the emperor wants her to become his concubine. As she was unwilling and love that guy a lot, they decided to elope the next day night and meet at 望美石. Strangly, that night, she dream of a god telling her that oppostite 望美石is an excellent place to hide out. Also, there are pills in there. The god asked her to consume one of it(to sleep) to prevent the search of the emperor's military. With that, that night, she went to early there and indeed there were pills there. Greedly, she consumed more than she was told. In the end, it was a broken love story.

The beauty sofa. Can you see the pillow on the left?
Mei yi and me on it (almost fall while climbing up
The lover's water fall

Waterfall!

So after visiting that place, we went to the rural there. Although they belongs to the rural side, they are not poor, contradictory they are quite rich!

The bridge that we cross which can only allow 10 person to pass. Very shaky and unstabled bridge. The people behind of the bridge crossing feel scarier than the people infront!

The male chicken
The female Chicken The Pig! BIG!
The mushroom that they grew as a source of living;income

Then, we played some rural games. Throwing of stone/pepples! See the ripples!

Later after dinner, we went for a campfire party

Me and felicia

Performance:
This guy was standing on kniefs! It's those chopper's knife to chop wild boars all those!
INTERESTING!
Now he is carrying a heavy guy(around 80kg?) on his back.

Then, stepping on broken sharp glass. My heart was stirring while see it. New experience again as Singapore do not have this performance(except for magic shows)

Then, it's singing time! By majority demand, Yi Sheng went up on stage and he sang 勇气. By who i don't know

Then it's velverie and Jin Quan time!Song : 好心分手

We had a great time there!
The campfire around 10pm, we went back to our hotel, bath and have discussion for our project again. Till 12.30am then I sleep.

Day 35 (Monday, 06.04.09)
Weather: Double digit degree

Woke up at 7am by the morning call. I was feeling quite cold! What’s wrong with the heater in the room, does it really works? Then, I washed up and we had our breakfast at 7.30am. After which, we visited many places of interested.
Map

From what i know, we went to all these places. But as all these pictures are from my friend’s camera, thus, I only knew some of the places she took.

This is a typical sceen in the olden days where they build a place to settle down during war on the mountain.

The well. It is known that the deep of the well is related to how high they were on the mountain.

This vine is know as Fu Mang Vinethe First Longest Vine in the world,天下第一...(see the map on top, sorry my chinese not very good, only understand these few words.) This vine trailed over the rock which is two inches wide and one hundred inches long. It has 2000years of history growing from 0mm.

This is the 生死恋(see the map on top).
It is called this way as the tree is dead while the vine is alive, holding the tree upright. It's know that couple should be like that, forever love. Be it dead or alive.

Then, this a stone represent "brotherhood". In the past, to become brothers who do not have any blood relationship with them, people cut of a bit of their fingers so as to collect a few drops of blood. Then, their blood were mixed and they each take a sip. Thus, with that, they conclude to share the same blood and vowed that 我们同年同月同日生,同年同月同日死! Their brotherhood sprit!
A tree house for them to look out for enemy approching

This is the 太阳石. It is known that when the sun light shines on it, it is cold instead of being hot!A precious stone amoung there.
Then, visting of the place which give us a rough experience on the war buildings

They have north, south, east and west door.

At around 12pm, we had our lunch in the same restaurant. After our dinner, we went to our last attraction site,空山洞.
Inside was quite dark

The tour guide claims that the water was flowing upwards.

Can you see 2 Chinese god? See where the red arrow pointing. one big, 1 smaller 1.

Waterfall made of stone there

Then, 洞房
The bed
There were cravings on the stone, but i do not understand them

There were a lot of these kind of warning
See, I can just ignore the warning as im too short. See the person infront of me, he needs to bend down. Basically everyone needs to bend down a little, but i do not need! Advantage of shorties

Another one

The underworld palace. These wordings is reflected from water(i know it do not look likes, but it's real!). UNIQUE!

Then the lucky stone

The reason why it is know as lucky stone as it has fallen from the top and stuck there. Thus, as it did not dropped all the way down, it was name that. I wanted to touch this lucky stone, but i was too short to touch it! No matter how hard i jump, still no use.

Lastly, while going out, there was 2 path for us to choose. Happiness or life long. I chose the happiness routh and i went up down, left right and through narrow path. For those who have chose life long, they told me that they just walk through a long path.
Therefore, to conclude, to obtain happiness, there are a lot of problems that we will face and in the end, they are still counted as happiness as the only different is the way you view things. Thus, Happiness is a state of mind!

Around 4.15pm, we were back into the bus and headed back to WUST.Half way through the journey, there were stops which allow us to use the washroom. As I was in need to use the toilet, I went down. To my utter shock, the toilet has NO DOORS! I had no choice but to use it! I felt quite uncomfortable while using it as I do not and did not use toilets with no doors before! Thus, it was quite an experience for me… But lucky for me, I chose the last toilet to use, thus, not much a problem.

We reached WUST around 9 plus at night. After alighting from the bus, we went to eat our dinner and collected our tea which we ordered. After bathing and doing some own personal stuff(check emails, wash clothing etc.) We(Yisheng, Mei yi, Alan, Felicia and I) discussed our project again. Another experience for me while bathing! As my bathroom bulb has blown out, I bathed in the dark! (As I mention in day 12, China was darker as compared to Singapore. Thus, you don’t see much stars in Singapore, however, u can see stars in china!) We discussed till 3pm and I went to sleep.
The 40 boxes of tea!

To cut a long story short, Lulin resort was an enjoyable trip(and it should be one as the word resort says so). Also, I had did/had 2 unexpected experience: Using toilets with no doors and bathing in the dark.
