Title:Day 20, Conquered WUDANG SHAN! (Cont... 2 days 1 night trip, Wudang Mountain)
Temp: Cold, no idea of the degree as i do not have internet here... Woke up at 6am due to a phone call (Morning call). Then, got prepared and checked out of the hotel and went for breakfast(7am) at the same restaurant again.
There are somemore dishes which are, noodles, porridge and a few more others. Somehow, i felt that breakfast was nicer than the lunch and dinner we had in day 19... In China, usually, breakfast are serve like this:hard boiled eggs, white porridge, soup base noodles, buns and other vegetables. But however, in Singapore, most commonly we ate bread; sandwich, curry puff etc. Also, other breakfast in Singapore usually is those fried noodles, fried beehoon. Thus, from this trip to Wudang mountain and 3 gorges, i saw the different in the breakfast.
After filling ourselves with enough energy to climb the mountain, we were all ready to take our challenge: Climb Mount. Wudang. As mentioned above, Mount. Wudang is 1.612km tall. But however, we did not climb from the bottom.(we are not so powerful). Look at the photo above: We took a 50 mins ride up the hill to nan yan(11) and started climbing from there. Following the yellow coloured track: The path we took was from 11 till 10, then from 10 climb up all the way till 14 and turned left to 24 and last, reached the jin ding, summit(21). So, the total distance we have climbed from nan yan(11) till summit(21) is 4km(as we climbing along the mountain, not vertically up)! We accomplished it within 2 and a half hours!!
So, when we reached Wudang mountain, we were split into 2 groups, climbing group and taking cable group. Then, repectively, we went to our destination to go up to the summit. So, now, i shall let pictures do the talking. Mainly, we climbed don't know how many THOUSANDS flights of stairs!!
The group of us that climbed the mountain!(with the tour guide) Now, Climbing.... See clearly this picture, it's like a staris maze! Can you see where it stretch till?
Climbing!
Continue climbing
Still climbing
The 100-steps stairs which we need to climb 100 steps in a go, it will raise us 100meters up.
More climbing... Can you see where does it strech till!?
Climb CLimb CLIMB!! Basically, we just kept climbing stairs after stairs
Finally, get settled down to take some photo. Cause you all know why? After so much climbing, we finally saw the summit!!! Can you see the red arrow i draw at the top right hand corner? That's the summit! But, we are still down there, damn tired then...
Climbing Resting
Climbing again, this time round we took this path, instead of using the stairs. Can you see: there are stairs on the top right hand side of the photo above, but we choose to climb on the slope! As we find that this is then what we call the REAL climbing mountains. It may be dangerous, but exciting!
YEA!!! WE REACHED THE SUMMIT!! SEE THE PICTURES ON TOP!
Group photos again! But however, we are still too early to happy, there are still some more stairss to climb. See what i mean? Still climbing...
Finally, we reached!
Actually, we are earlier than those people whom took the cable. It's not because we climbed very fast, is because there were a lot of people queuing for the cable too as it was a sunday!
Thus, we all still made a correct decision in climbing as firstly, the experience gained in climbing a mountain, as singapore only have hills(less than 600meter) not mountain(more than 600meter) and secondaly, we save cost(no need to pay for the cable to come up)!
Then, after climbing so much, we reached our summit!
This is what is available at the summit, a temple(for praying) and locks store(for locks of love) and another store?
Random photos taken...
The wind is so big! See my wind breaker, it is filled! It's SUPER COLD UP THERE!
Jin Quan, me and Ian
Hardy(one of our student leader) and me! He was the 1 who injured his ankle and he climbed the mountain together with us too! He was so STRONG and BUILT!
Felicia and meKumaran me(see how my hair fly) and ian
Then, i went to the summit, to the lock store and made a Quan jia ping an Lock! Let me explain to my readers what is the lock about. It is called the locks of love.Locks of love are the padlocks fixed by loving couples, on to a fence or a pole or metallic chain/string alongside some wall etc at a public place, to symbolize their eternal love.Besides lovers, often family members and close friends also put such locks at these places, to lock their relationship forever.
A very famous place for couples is the lovers lock at USA, nevada. See the picture above. This is the real version and it is on a bridge.
Okay, so back to my lock. This is the front view of it
Then, the backview of it. However, i wrote my father's name wrong!! AWw!! Don't know still will work annot for my family. But nevertheless, is the heart that counts!
My lock locked on the metal chain.
The stairs where i locked it, with many others beside it. I shall come back next time to visit you my locks of love(family)
Then after that, we climb down and went to take the cable to go down of the mountain. Due to time constraint, we only have two choice before we came:1st, climb up take cable down. 2nd,take cable up and down. So, we took the 1st the first choice and now, we are going to take the cable
Woah! Ren shan ren hai!!so many people!!
Tour guide and me!
Going up the cable!
Now we starting our journey in our cable
Video taking while i was in the cable!
Woo! Going down le!
OMG, you see, it's so steep that i cannot see the cable car which is infront of me!
So what are we doing in the cable, we having picnic in it! Our buscuits!
Us eating
Making funny face
Me and felicia The cable car infront of us. They are MDE students who the girl is called ci min and the guy is something guan one. (sorry i forgotten your name)
As i was in the cable, there were a few moments that the cable stopped to let us to enjoy the scenery. It was rather scary at that particular time as the wind then was quite strong. It was shaking and swaying almost like in mid air! At times, i was afraid that it would just drop!
Around 20 mins or so, we are down! Then, we was informed that we will be having our lunch at a restaurant near there. Thus while proceeding to our lunch place, pictures i took.
Me and another tour guide! He is a good tour guide! Basically, the tour guides we had were excellent!
Me~ Then, we reached the restaurant and hotel? See the picture below to see what i mean
See the "fu" chinese wording? Behind that glass is actually the room for the guest!
Only curtains were used to block the inside of the room from the outside. Er... if im the one inside, i will feel lack of PRIVACY and very insercure!
After eating, took the tour bus down the hill again as the cable only send us down to a certain place only. During the trip down, we got to stop at a place where it mainly sells tea and some souvenirs.
This picture shows how they serve tea for us to taste. (The lady is washing the cups)
After reaching the bottom of the Wudang Mountain, we took our bus to go back to WUST. Our journey back lasted 4hrs. But however, it was the most difficult 4 hours for me! My motion sickness isn’t controlled after eating the motion sickness pills! Inside the bus, it was stuffy, hot, small (no space for me to move) and I felt super sick then! After being in that yucky bus ride for 4 hours, straight away after I reached my dormitory, I got diarrhea! Oh my god!!! I can swear, this is the WORST motion sickness I have ever had!
Reached back in dormitory around 9.30pm. Then, around 9.45pm, the birthday boy, kidd called and ask me to tag along in his BBQ-ing session. As I was sick then, I rejected him. But, he kept asking me to join him, so, as not to disappoint him, I agreed and went there for half an hour and left.
So, day 19 was a successful day yet a sickness day for me!
