Day 1, Reflection
-Even though China is not as save as Singapore, somehow, I could feel some sense of security here. (maybe because we are in groups)
-The local students here which I meet were all around the age of 18-20 which is near my age. Thus, I foresee that we should not have any communication gap. However, some of them do have the accent and it’s quite hard to understand what they are trying to say. But overall, the local students here are very hardworking and they are willing to speak to you English, if you were to speak from them.
-For the culture here, there was a culture shock to me. The driver just step out of their vehicle to quarrel. (e.g. while entering into WUST, my bus was block by a car in front, thus, the driver just open the bus door, and step out and make a big fuss.) Also, I have found out that they speak in a rather loud manner (e.g. today, while I’m in the lift, there were 2 lady talking loudly to each other)
-Another remarkable incidence happened today was when I’m in the bus. The valley road in Wuhan has no sign (what I mean here was there is no arrow directing to say which way is incoming and which way is oncoming.) Thus, there was a lot of honking sound heard as it was rather confusing. I even saw a lorry driving towards our bus and caused the whole area to be jammed. This is what I notice for the first day, that’s all.
